During The Batsto Quilters Quilt & Art Show that was held at Batsto Village on June 9, 2002 the Batsto Quilters temporarily occupied The Sewers Cottage (Cottage #37) to give visitors a chance to hear a short history of sewing machines used by quilters and to view some vintage sewing machines lent by Batsto Quilters members.

BQ member Libby Hage gave visitors a short history of the sewing machine and how it was used by quilters throughout history.

An old treadle sewing machine that is permenantly on display at The Sewers Cottage.
A vintage Singer featherweight that was brought by BQ Libby Hage.

A Singer sewing machines from bygone days.
A Singer sewing machine from the '70's, called The Genie.
